Apple Releases AirTags Firmware Update

Apple Today’s firmware update was released for AirTag’s item trackers. It features an updated build number of 2.A36. This is an increase from the previous 2A24e firmware. Apple The first update was released in November. You will notice a 2.0.36 version number when you download the update.

The update will include some new features, but there is not yet any word. Apple You may be able to provide additional details in a supporting document.

An AirTag update cannot be forced. It’s an over-the air process that happens through a connected iPhone. To make sure the update happens, you can put your AirTag in range of your ‌‌iPhone‌‌, but you have to wait for the firmware to roll out to your device. The Find My app allows you to check the current firmware version of your AirTag. We also have instructions in our howto.

Curiously, Apple The 2A24e was discontinued. AirTags In November, firmware was being released on a regular basis. But the update was eventually pulled before it went live. Today’s new firmware replaces the previous version.
